Week 1 Recap - 2026

Welcome back, turkeys.

Another season of BAD Bowling is officially underway, and Week 1 gave us a strong start. The pins were flying, the strikes were falling, and the turkeys came early this year.

This is where you'll find the weekly recap—the highlights, the big scores, and any general updates from around the league. So be sure to click "join" this thread to get all the updates.

Let’s get into opening night.

Spare Parts Jump Out Early

Spare Parts wasted no time setting the tone for 2026, posting the highest team total of the night (2128 net) and jumping to the top of the standings with 32 points.

Leading the charge was Derek Welch, who rolled a career-high 211 scratch in game 2 on his way to one of the top series of the night with 482 net. Spare Parts also got strong support from Dan Goldsbury (440), Joe Carter (406), and Sean Harrison (397).

When four bowlers are flirting with 400+ nights, it’s usually a good sign that things are clicking.

Week 1 MVP: Mike Connolly

The individual performance of the night belonged to Hambone Heroes’ Mike Connolly, who takes home Week 1 MVP honors.

Connolly rolled a career-high 195 scratch game and backed it up with another strong +190 game to finish with a 388 scratch series – which ranks 3rd all-time in league history. This all added up to a massive 484 net series, the biggest total of the week.

Hambone also got strong nights from Jose Suazo (431), Brian Kokernak (421), and Jeff Dyke (415), helping the Heroes finish the night with 2111 net pins and 27 points, good for second place.

Bowling for Soup Makes a Move

Bowling for Soup rode a big Game 2 surge to climb the standings and finish the night in third place.

Rookie Kevin Barlow led the charge with a turkey in game two and a total 451 net series, while Nolan Moon added 434 and Adam Proia chipped in 399, powering Soup to 2036 net pins on the night.
