Week 5 Update - 2025

The Playoff Bracket is Locked In!

As usual, expectations were low, and the pressure was high as the teams rolled into Week 5 for the final two games of the regular season. With playoff spots on the line, Boston’s most incredible ad league bowlers didn’t disappoint. Let’s break down the final matchups before the postseason and call out the high rollers.

Mustache Bandits (2009) edge Spare Parts (1976), 3–2

In one of the night’s most tightly contested showdowns, the Mustache Bandits escaped with a narrow win over Spare Parts thanks to a well-timed trio attack. Mike Grasela (223), Kevin Boyle (214), and Brandon Trafka (226) all stepped up, with Trafka delivering the Game 2 dagger that secured the overall series.

But Spare Parts weren’t going down without flashing the bat—er I mean the.. Pat Signal. When the lights got bright, Pat “The Pat Signal” Kelleher answered the bell. He stormed into Game 1 with a scratch 200 and lit up the scoreboard for a Week 5-best 471 net series, earning Week 5 MVP honors and keeping his squad in striking distance. Spare Parts will look to get their revenge next week in the playoffs. Same teams. Higher stakes. You already know who they’ll be calling.

The Bowling Stones (2016) def. Marco Bowlo (1938), 3–2

With playoff hopes on the line, both teams came in needing a win — and The Bowling Stones struck first with a commanding 90-pin Game 1 victory. Kristen Cardon (406) led the charge with a steady two-game net, while Taylor Coughlin (410) chipped in with her strongest series of the season.

Marco Bowlo may have been knocked out of playoff contention with the loss, but they didn’t go quietly. Mike Schilling posted a season-best 463 net series, capping off a consistently strong campaign. Quietly lurking near the top of the leaderboards all year, Week 5 sealed the deal — earning Schilling 2025 League MVP honors.

Unfortunately, both teams finish outside the playoff bracket, but The Bowling Stones walk away with a hard-earned win and one last highlight to close out the season.

Tiger Daddies (2031) outlast Hambone Heroes (1977), 3–2

The battle between the 1 and 2 seeds lived up to its billing. Rafael Feliz continued to be one of the most dangerous late-season weapons in the league, dropping a 463 net series with back-to-back 170+ scratch games. Jude Senese added 430 of his own, helping the Tiger Daddies edge out the Heroes in total pins.

Hambone Heroes didn’t go down quietly — Jose Suazo was as consistent as ever with a 419 net, and Jeff Marois capped off his outstanding debut campaign with a 364 net. His poise, performance, and contributions all year earn him the title of 2025 Rookie of the Year. A well-deserved nod for one of the league’s most valuable additions.

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? I AM! (1936) sweep Bowling for Soup (1821), 5–0

With their playoff hopes on the line, Who Do You Think You Are came through in the clutch, delivering a 5-point sweep to punch their ticket to the postseason. Anya Spirito (414) and Beau Phillips (406) led the charge, backed by a well-rounded team effort that lifted them into the final playoff spot!

Bowling for Soup were well-positioned entering week 5. However, they were down a man and couldn’t quite muster the firepower to keep pace. Sam Mueller (408) and Adam Proia (378) put up a fight, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Pete Weber-like energy from their neighbor lane.

Bright side? They still have a crack at hoisting the cup. Bowling for Soup will be back next week as they square off against the Tiger Daddies in the playoffs.

Playoffs will be next week May 7th. Be on the lookout for a Playoff Preview Write-up.
